I love supplementing our curriculum with educational videos and documentaries. And there are so many wonderful programs out there to choose from, but there are a few that my kids love so much that they will watch them over and over again. If you are looking to start your own home DVD library these are my (and my kids) top 10 favorite educational videos!

If you love the magic school bus book series, your kids will love these videos.  I use this set of 8 DVD’s (52 episodes) year after year to help supplement our science curriculum.

The first time my kids watched this show, they were hooked. And it’s such a great deal with 40 episodes.  That’s over 800 minutes of programming.

I used this set to teach my kids the 10 commandments and they loved it so much they continue to watch it for fun.
The Nature of God is an awesome series.  There are 3 Ocean Adventures, and 3 Wilderness Discoveries in this series.
My kids love these 3 dvd’s.  This is a great set for teaching about animals and for helping them defend their belief in a Creator.
My kids literally laugh out loud at this show.  There are 13 Volumes each containing two episodes, each about a half hour.  They are packed with so much information even I find myself learning along with my kids.
I feel like I have used this series forever and we still haven’t seen them all. There are 36 DVD’s covering stories from the Old and New Testament. There is also another 20 DVD’s of Hero classics covering such people as, Pocahontas, Galileo, Marie Curie, Benjamin Franklin and more.
My oldest daughter has seen most of the videos in this series and she just told she wants to watch them all again for fun.  My younger two have just begun watching them and they also enjoy them. Dave Stotts makes learning about history fun and and comical.

When my kids were little they loved these DVD’s and learned so much from them.  These are a definite staple for all mama’s with littles. I recommend all the Leap Frog DVD’s.  I don’t think we have found one yet that we didn’t love.
My kids tend to be visual learners and this DVD set was such a great to help them learn their sight words and more.
