Glimmer & Shine – A Girl’s Devotional Review

I received my copy of Glimmer & Shine for free as a member of Zondervan’s Z BLOG SQUAD in exchange for my honest review.

I have been using Faithgirlz devotionals with my oldest daughter for years now.  She and I love them and Glimmer & Shine is no exception.

Glimmer & Shine is a hardcover, daily devotional for girls written by Award-Winning Recording Artist, Natalie Grant.  Like most devotionals it is written to cover one page each day.  Each day has a Bible verse with a short story to help you apply it to your life and concludes with a prayer. Unlike most other devotionals, the weekend pages are filled with fun activities. On these days you can find interactive pages with fun filled puzzles, quizzes, coloring pages and more.

It features a ribbon bookmark and is broken down into 7 sections: Be Forgiven, Be Changed, Be His, Be Encouraged, Be Free, Be Brave and Be One.  I loved that each day was numbered instead of dated so that if you miss a day or 2 you don’t feel like you need to jump around you can just move on to the next day.

This book is suggested for girls age 8 and up, but I would suggest for girls 12 and up. The content is in no way inappropriate for younger girls, more that the material would be better understood by someone in their teens. I absolutely love this book and will be storing it for when my younger daughter (age 9) is a bit older.

I would totally suggest this book for any of the young ladies in your life along with the entire line of Faithgirlz devotionals.
