Our Favorite Picture Book Series

My kids and I love reading together! Even though they are growing up and can read on their own, there are picture books that they still ask me to read to them.  Here are our top 5 picture book series that have held up to the test of time in our house.

#1 Dr. Seuss – Though there are a few that have become favorites in our home, we love them all.  I even use their beginner readers to help my kids learn to read.  Some of our favs are the Lorax, To Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street, Horton Hears a Who and The Grinch That Stole Christmas.

#2 Elephant and Piggie – Even though my oldest did not grow up with these books, my younger ones have fallen in love with these characters.  Elephant and Piggie are just like any other kids and like your children they tend to make you laugh out loud at their antics.

#3 Splat the Cat – Splat the cat is a curious kitty that has my kids laughing through every book.  This series is a favorite of all of my kids.

#4 Berenstain Bears – I cannot say enough good things about the Berenstain Bears books. Not only are the characters very relatable, but they teach values like sharing and kindness.  A book that my kids love that also teaches them to care for others is a win-win in my book.

#5 The Wemmicks by Max Lucado – Although that is not the title of the series, Max Lucado has created a series of books based on the Wemmick characters.  These are such lovely and touching stories that talk about our differences and loving ourselves.
