I received my copy of Captain Snout and the Super Power Questions for free as a member of Zondervan’s Z BLOG SQUAD in exchange for my honest review.
I love reading books to my kids that teach them to cope with real life situations, whether it’s bullying, stress management or in this case dealing with negative self-talk. The truth is there are so many things that all humans deal with, young or old, that gets looked over as a part of a child’s education. This is also why I teach my kids to meditate.
In Captain Snout and the Super Power Questions we learn how to question our Automatic Negative Thoughts (A.N.T.’s). We all have them and few of us stop to consider how realistic these thoughts really are. In this book Captain Snout’s super power questions help us determine if our A.N.T.’s are really true and to look at them more realistically. After all your body is always listening to what you are saying.
As people we tend to spend a lot of time thinking and it’s often not positive. I can’t tell you how many times someone has caught me having a conversation in my head and asked “what’s wrong?” Oftentimes our minds are either in the future worrying about the “what if’s” or in the past beating ourselves up for a previous mistake. We need to train our minds to be present and question those A.N.T.’s.
This book helps us teach our children the different kinds of A.N.T.’s we can have and how to address them. If you have never heard of or addressed your A.N.T.’s this book can help you too.
My kids and I LOVED this book and I am so glad to add it to our home library.
